Best Cracker Joke Ever!!!!!!

We had some left over tree crackers which we pulled today.  They'd been on the tree and we'd forgotten about them till we took the tree down last week, so we put them on the table today and pulled them before dinner.

Most of the crackers had the standard terrible cracker jokes, except for the one in my cracker, which as the title suggests in my opinion is the best cracker joke ever.

Q: How do you get two whales in a car?

A:Over the Severn bridge. (Highlight the text to make it appear)

The reason that I love this joke is due to the word play involved.  One of my favourite types of comedy is word play based comedy, which is why I love I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. One of the main components of the show is the use of double meanings or using different pronunciations to make a word mean something else, which is found in rounds like New Definitions.  There is also a liberal dose of old fashioned double entendres, especially when (the late great) Humphrey Littleton (Humph) was talking about Samantha.

I'm also sick of my TV it's all flickery, I'd replace it but I'm skint and I was planning on keeping this tv until I could upgrade to a HD ready one, but I've got a feeling I'm going to have to upgrade earlier than I planned.

Merry Christmas

Merry christmas everyone.

We recieved our first christmas present this week, in the form of a new washing machine, we've been without one for a month when ours kaputted.  Which wasn't good, it left cinderblock all over the kitchen floor.  So now we're catching up on all the washing that we didn't hand wash.

I've also taken up crochet, predominetly amigurumi, which are crocheted toys, i'll post some pics when I take them.

Busy couple of weeks

The last couple of weeks have been fairly busy for me, or at least compaired to a normal week they have been.

On Wednesday 12th I went to see Chris Addison perform stand up at Leeds City Varieties. I had a really good night and enjoyed the comedy (apart from the fact he dissed Huddersfield)

On the Friday (14th) it was my birthday, I didn't do anything special for it. So now I'm 24 and it's slighly scary.

On the Saturday I went out for a meal with my friends and it was brilliant catching up with everyone.

And on Thursday 20th I officially became alumna (apparently the female of alumnus) of the University of Huddersfield. I will post a picture when I get some off Dad as he took too many pictures, a digital camera is perhaps not a good idea as far as he's concerned.

New Hair

I have new hair. It's a coppery red quite dark and fairly shortish, I can't really tie it back at the top of my neck but I can tie it up high up on my head. I'll post a pic when I get one.

Strange few days

It's the 1st of November and in the first couple of hours of NaNoWriMo I've written 589 words, if I can keep that up I may just make the 50,000 words.

Also on wednesday David Tennent announced he was quiting Doctor Who. I'm in two minds about him going. I kinda knew it was going to happen, what with the the specials and the change in head writer, but I would have loved him to do at least one series with Stephen Moffet in charge. The question is though who is going to be the next doctor, apparently the bookies favourite is David Morrisey who is appearing as the Next Doctor in the Christmas special of the same name, too me this seems a bit obvious.

NaNoWriMo

I possibly against my better judgement have decided to take part in NaNoWriMo, which for those who do not know stands for National Novel Writers Month (www.nanowrimo.org).

This is an annual event which takes place every Novemeber and requires participants to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I haven't decided what I'm going to write about and possibly won't until I sit down on the 1st to start writing. I may try and update my progress on here and at the very least I'll put a word count widgit on the blog so you can keep up to date with my progress. Whether I put my story online in the end will depend on how it turns out in the end.

You see machines in a different way than everyone else. To you the cause and effect of gearwork is intuitive. You use this knowledge to great skill and are often improving or steamlining your equipment in mid-action, because you enjoy the action just as much as you enjoy the machines. A machine is worthless unless it is put to good use. And if you don’t have a machine available to do the job you want it to do, with the right tools you will build one. And if you don’t have the right tools, you will make those too. Many an innocent has been saved by your daring deeds.
